Hot packed lunch is provided and we stop here so you can enjoy your meal while taking in the beauty of the surroundings.
  • After lunch, it’s back on the road as we make our way to Tashi View Point. Tashi is a popular tourist destination as its offers spectacular views of the Kanchenjungha as well as the opposite hills and their Labrang Phodong Monasteries. From street level, it’s a steep climb up a flight of stairs to the circular viewing area of Tashi. Located close to Tashi Viewing Point is Ganesh Tok, a temple dedicated to the elephant-headed Hindu God Ganesha. It stands at an altitude of 6500 ft and like Tashi, requires a climb up a set of stairs to reach the top. The temple itself is quite small and yet it draws scores of tourists for the wonderful views of the surrounding landscape from its glass-panelled windows.
  • From here, we make our way back to Gangtok, stopping en route at the Institute of Tibetology in Deorali. • From Tsomgo, we visit the famous Baba Harbhajan Mandir. Baba Mandir is located at an altitude of 13123 ft between Jelepla and Nathu La Passes and has an intriguing legend about its origin. According to popular belief, Harbhajan Singh was a sentry of the Punjab Regiment posted in these parts who purportedly drowned in a stream. This is how the temple came to be established with further additions to the legend of Harbhajan Singh inhabiting the place as a benevolent spirit and protecting the people of the land from any harm.
